History
Education Alternatives was founded in 1999 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency to provide academic and therapeutic services for students experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties. Our first school year began with nine employees and thirteen children in a facility located in Maple Heights. Today, Education Alternatives employs over 130 clinicians, teachers, and associates, and provides education for more than 400 students each year. Over 50 school districts are served in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Summit, Portage, Lake, and Medina counties through five day treatment facilities in Bedford, Elyria, Willoughby Hills, Strongsville, and Cuyahoga Falls.
